You'll be pleased to hear that "normal" life on board Pura Vida has resumed. All broken wings are fixed and we are once again heading West. Our little detour South didn't bring us any polar bears as we were hoping, so we've resorted to the fact that the wildlife just doesn't want to play and we're giving up looking and getting on with the task at hand.
Tomorrow sees a month at sea and we haven't seen any sign of life for weeks now. That is obviously adding to the insanity and belief that the world has stopped. But then we had a delightful surprise this morning just when we were feeling alone, when we received over 70 messages from all of you. This has put an end to the jibbering temporarily and left us all with big smiles on our faces as we reminisce about life on land. It really did give us a massive much needed boost so thank you very much and please keep them coming.
Today has been hairwash day. Just stepped out of a salon is probably not the phrase I'd use to describe the end result, nor in fact the process of washing. It goes something like this.... take small green bucket. Pump water pump approx 12 times to cover bottom of bucket. Stick entire head upside down into bucket whilst holding bucket with both hands and shake vigorously. This pretty much gets head wet and provides a lot of entertainment for both rowers who are forced to watch this performance. The method from here varies slightly depending on who is washing, but Sarah can always be relied upon for a tuneful rendition of "Gotta wash that man right out of my hair". She seems to think she's in the South Pacific - bless her lack of geography!
Otherwise an uneventful day thankfully. Enjoying the calm, slightly undulating sea and looking forward to finding another speedy patch soon.
