There we were merrily rowing along, and just getting back on to a south westerly route and what do we stumble across ... BL**DY ROADWORKS! We just couldn't believe it - a great big sign saying NO ENTRY right there us in front of us THAMES WATER MAINS PIPE REPLACEMENT WORK IN PROGRESS, PLEASE FOLLOW DIVERSION. Could you Adam and Eve it, out here in the Indian ocean - just like being in London!

So a quick U turn followed and we were back the way we came! But as always with diversions signs they weren't very clear and we felt like we were going round in circles! In despair we found the nearest motel, and checked in for the night. It was a bit basic, and the small side but what can you say for that price! We were generally well accommodated and they even provided complimentary bed socks - which Sarah insisted was a must in every hotel! With some of us a bit more refreshed after a good nights sleep it was up with the crack of down, handbrake off a left turn at the traffic light and off along those B roads towards Mauritius. Lets just hope the motorway reappears at some point soon.
