We navigate the boat using a Global Positioning System (GPS), backed up by the boat’s own compass. We will also take a reserve hand held GPS.  We will all have completed the RYA Yachtmaster Ocean theory examination as a part of our training & preparation.

Power for the boat’s systems such as the GPS, lights, water maker, and radio comes from solar panels, installed on the outside of the aft cabin, feeding 2 large rechargeable batteries located in a storage compartment under the sleeping area inside the cabin. The charge is maintained by a battery regulator which switches between the 2 batteries to ensure both are used effectively.
