Who are we?

On arriving in Antigua fresh from her Atlantic crossing, someone jokingly asked Sarah if it was to be the Indian Ocean next. "There's a race in 2009 you know!?". Despite being exhausted, in pain, and delighted to be back on land, she couldn't get the idea out of her head from that moment on.
Meanwhile a friendly American was quizzing Fiona about her crossing, and her final question was "would you do it again?". With no hesitation whatsoever, her reply was "Absolutely!". So when Sarah started hinting at the idea back in the UK and Fiona started to realise Sarah really was serious, they decided this once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of the first ever Indian Ocean race, and potentially the first women to ever make this crossing, was not to be missed. So then all they needed was the rest of the crew....
They met lots of amazing people and had a lot of fun along the way. In many ways they wished they had a bigger boat so they could take them all, but knew that they had to narrow it down to a final 4. And so it was after a bit of a rollercoaster ride and lots of ups and downs, that Jo and Elin became the final members of the team.
Jo met Fiona in the pub just before the Atlantic rowing race and couldn't stop telling her she was absolutely crazy - just look at Jo now!
Elin was one of the other successful rowers in the Woodvale Atlantic Rowing Race 2007, and so brings a wealth of experience from her previous crossing. Like Sarah and Fiona, she is determined to put into practice everything she has learned and to do this one really really well.
They believe that the crew is a really strong one. They all bring different experiences, but share similar attitudes in positivity, determination, commitment, and fun. Click on the pictures below to find out more...
